April 14 is Rosie's Place Day!
We are excited to share
that Mayor Wu signed a proclamation
making Sunday, April 14, 2024, "Rosie's Place Day" in the City of Boston
commemorating 50 years since we first opened our doors
and our hearts in welcome and service.
As the proclamation states, "Rosie's Place, founded in 1974 as the first women-only shelter in the United States, has served as a beacon of hope and compassion for poor and homeless women..."
While this special day from the City is heartening—our long road to equity, dignity and opportunity for the women we serve is humbling.
