How We Help

We strive to make life easier for women with medical needs by offering basic health care on-site at our Wellness Center.

Since 1984, the Rosie’s Place Wellness Center, in partnership with the Young School of Nursing at Regis College, Health Care Without Walls and Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, has provided free basic health care and referral to thousands of our guests.  Volunteer physicians, nurses and nurses-in-training are available Monday through Friday to provide blood pressure and blood sugar checks, strep tests, foot care, MassHealth enrollment and more.

When Massachusetts residents were ordered to stay-at-home, our Wellness Center services transformed into medical screenings for each guest who visits our facility. Health Care Without Walls, one of our longtime Wellness Center partners, helps us to screen guests for fever, cough and other COVID-19 symptoms. With their expertise, we are able to keep up-to-date logs of guests’ baselines and should any COVID-19 symptoms be discovered, and refer them to nearby medical services for testing or treatment.

Additionally, providers from Health Care Without Walls provide daily medical outreach, and the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program provides twice weekly general health services to our vulnerable guests. Services from these partners include chronic condition monitoring, medication adherence, wound care and serving as liaisons with primary care and hospital providers.
