Donating Face Masks

Hi Friends of Rosie’s Place,

We hope this message finds you healthy and well during this challenging time. As many of you know, Rosie's Place remains open and committed to being a sanctuary for our guests. The women relying on our services are among the most vulnerable among us and are depending on us now, more than ever.

Over the past several months, we have been heartened by the kind messages of support and offers of assistance we have received from our friends. Today, we are hoping you can support our efforts to keep the Rosie’s Place community safe and healthy by donating face masks.

We are looking for donations of disposable masks and are accepting homemade ones as well. If you are able to make them yourself, here are a few designs that work for us:

Option 1: Mask with a filter pocket - Please omit the wire due to safety concerns.

Option 2: Mask with a simpler design

Option 3: Mask (sewn version only) – Feedback from both mask makers and mask users are that 8x8 is a better size for most and sewing the elastic versus looping is more effective.

If you’re unable to help by making them yourself, please consider sharing this with your network to help spread the word. Thank you!

Completed masks can be mailed to:

Rosie’s Place
Attn: Sandy Mariano
889 Harrison Ave
Boston, MA 02118

In person drop offs can ONLY occur Monday through Friday between 9am and 2pm. If you would like to make a donation of more than 250 masks please contact Shelli Stevens at or 617.318.0211 to coordinate the details.

To help us process your donations, please fill out this brief form.

As always, we are grateful for your support of our mission to be a place of safety and peace for our guests.
