At Rosie’s Place, we go beyond helping a homeless guest attain housing…we help her maintain it.
Each month we connect with 100 women in their homes in an effort to break the cycle of chronic homelessness. For many women, mental health problems, language barriers, physical disability and addiction can interfere with maintaining their home. Essential household tasks can become overwhelming and ultimately sabotage housing. Our bi-lingual stabilization workers offer newly-housed guests long-term support and assistance through:
- monthly visits to their homes
- referrals for mental health or substance abuse treatment
- primary health care and medications
- help finding a job
- direct financial assistance to prevent eviction, cover unpaid utility bills or purchase household items
And our commitment is open-ended: we keep coming back, as long as our guests need us and can benefit from our help.
