Current Services

Rosie’s Place continues to serve more women than ever before—both at our main site at 889 Harrison Avenue, and out in the Boston community.  Through our varied programs and services, we’ve aided in the survival of some of the city’s most vulnerable women, and we’ve also created opportunity for some of those most in need of hope.

Emergency Support

Many of the women who turn to us have immediate needs and we help by offering an array of services that provide emergency support.

  • Food Programs – Three meals a day and a food pantry with fresh and non-perishable groceries for women and their children
  • Essential Services – Showers, laundry, lockers and phone and computer access
  • Shelter – A four-week stay provides time to plan what’s next
  • Wellness – Basic health care available on-site at our Wellness Center

Ongoing Support

We understand that many issues our guests face can only be addressed with time and patience.  We have created an environment of welcome and trust, where women can open up about the challenges they’re facing without fear of judgment and where we are here to help no matter how long a guest needs us.

  • Advocacy – One-on-one assistance from multi-lingual Advocates with anything from MBTA passes to housing and job search
  • ESOL Classes – Day and evening ESOL, literacy and computer classes
  • Legal Services – Attorneys on-site to help with family, immigration and debt issues
  • Public Policy – Working to achieve social justice through direct lobbying, coalition building, and empowering guests

Community Support

We have learned that the number of women who can benefit from the services of Rosie’s Place extends well beyond our front doors, and so instead of waiting for those women to come to us, we go to them.
