Stabilization Worker/Homelessness Prevention Outreach Program
OBJECTIVE:
To provide outreach services to formerly homeless and recently housed guests who face lifelong challenges due to chronic mental illness, physical disabilities, and other barriers that jeopardize permanent housing. Hours are 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday. Some flexibility needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a caseload of 60-70 formerly homeless and recently housed individuals who have chronic mental health issues, physical disabilities or limited education that put them at a higher risk of homelessness.
Visit guests in their homes and provide outreach services, information, referrals. Occasionally accompany guests to court, medical, and housing appointments.
Work with Rosie’s Place staff and other agencies to ensure the safety and continued tenancy of the guests.
Maintain file records as well as update guest’s information as needed in the Rosie’s Place database.
Report directly to the Outreach Program Manager.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Outreach Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of three years experience in case management and/or outreach
Proven knowledge of and ability to work with community services
Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance abuse
Proven ability to work independently and prioritize work
Understanding of and commitment to addressing issues affecting poor and homeless women
Ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds
Strong communication and computer skills
Proven ability to work flexibly and creatively within a highly stressful and challenging environment
Ability to speak Haitian Creole strongly preferred.
Must have a car, valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

Front Office Coordinator
OBJECTIVE
To provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for guests and visitors entering Rosie’s Place and to act as an effective, respectful and pro-active liaison between guests, visitors and Rosie’s Place programs.
HOURS:
7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Job to start on July 1, 2013.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Provide reliable, dependable, punctual coverage of the Rosie’s Place front office via the Front Desk.
Greet guests and visitors. Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for guests in reception area. Resolve conflicts between waiting guests, and intervene with angry/unhappy guests in a respectful manner to maintain peace in reception area.
Handle incoming telephone calls, mail and packages. Announce visitors to staff. Help guests sign-up for services, arts programs, emergency shelter, and other programs as available.
Oversee distribution of guests’ mail and use of telephone, computer, laundry and showers. Consistently monitor guest areas.
Maintain bar sheet, monthly calendar, staff lists and staff mailboxes.
Additional duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager.
Report directly to Front Desk Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Reliable, dependable, punctual. Good written and verbal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Comfortable dealing with diverse groups of people. Confident, level-headed, adaptable, able to cope with stress, quick-thinking, energetic and a good sense of humor. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Overnight Program Advocate
Rosie’s Place has one position available for a part-time, weekend advocate in our Overnight Program. You will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive atmosphere for twenty Overnight Program guests.
HOURS:
Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 pm to 7:30 am.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for overnight program guests.
- Maintain guest confidentiality and observe professional boundaries.
- Restock program supplies and complete housekeeping tasks.
- Enter a complete account of each shift in a daily log.
- Resolve all conflicts in a calm and respectful manner.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Overnight Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years direct service experience with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable, dependable, confident, quick thinking, adaptable and able to cope with stress.
- Good written and verbal skills and basic computer skills.

Rosie’s Place is looking for individuals who share our mission and philosophy to work as relief staff on an as-needed basis. All relief staff receive $10 per hour. If hired, you will receive paid training to work in one or more of the following positions:
