Back-to-School Wish List
Rosie’s Place’s Community Collaborative staff connects each week with mothers at Boston Public Schools, at our satellite office at Franklin Field and at local court houses. To help make sure their children are ready for September, we are collecting backpacks filled with supplies and uniform clothing. Uniforms are required at the schools we partner with, and we have found that many students have only one set of clothes to last them from week to week and season to season. Our goal is to give 125 students what they need for a good start to the year.
You can help by donating new school supplies, including:
- Unisex backpacks
- New books for all ages
- Colored pencils
- Pencil cases
- Lined and unlined paper
- Spiral notebooks
- Glue sticks
- Kid’s scissors
- New or gently-used polos, shirts and sweaters in white, yellow, light blue, dark blue and dark green*
- New or gently-used pants, skirts, jumpers and cardigans in navy and khaki*
- Gift cards to Old Navy, Target and Wal-mart
*Youth sizes 4-16
While you’re doing your back-to-school shopping, pick up an extra set of supplies and engage your children to sort and stuff backpacks with their friends!
We hope to have all donations in by August 25 so we can distribute to students before the start of the school year. Please contact Katie Amoro at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617.318.0211 for more information.
