Individual volunteers are people from the community who commit to volunteering on a regular basis. Although our required length of service varies by position, our minimum commitment is twice a month on the same shift for at least 3 months (e.g. Every other Sunday lunch from June-August). We have found that many volunteers choose to extend their service for even longer. Our diverse group of volunteers represents a broad range of ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, ages and abilities, such as:
- Both women and men. We welcome male volunteers and encourage their participation in our struggle for women’s rights in most programs.
- Guests of Rosie's Place. Women receiving services here may work as volunteers in most programs.
- Youths aged 12 and older. Individuals aged 12-18 may volunteer in our dining room. Please note: individuals aged 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer.
How to Get Involved in Individual Volunteering:
- Learn more about individual volunteer opportunities and read our volunteer stories.
- Submit an individual volunteer interest form and a Volunteer Services staff person will be in contact with you.
