Thanks to a faithful group of volunteers that we call caterers, Rosie’s Place is able to provide over 73,000 meals per year to poor and homeless women and children. Catering at Rosie’s Place refers to the donation of a nutritious, balanced meal for up to 150 guests. Volunteer groups find catering to be a fun and rewarding way to work together while making a difference in the community.
What is catering?
Catering at Rosie’s Place refers to the donation of a nutritious, balanced meal for up to 150 women and children.
Who can cater?
- Family/Friends/Neighbors
- Schools/Alumni Associations
- Corporations/Businesses
- Civic/Social Groups
- Religious Organizations
How do you cater?
There are several ways for groups to cater a meal:
- Make a donation to Rosie's Place to underwrite the cost of providing a meal in the dining room and then spend an evening at Rosie’s Place preparing a meal with our help in our kitchen.
- Buy the food for the meal, bring it in and prepare it in our kitchen and then serve it in our dining room.
- Have several members make a dish in their home or at your facility (like a church or school) and then drop it off at Rosie’s Place, or stay and help serve it.
- Hire a catering organization or restaurant to prepare the meal and then group members pick it up, bring it in and help serve it.
How much does it cost to cater a meal?
Typically, meals cost between $275 and $350. Some groups choose to split the cost amongst group members making it even more reasonable. For example, it would cost $35/person for a 10 member group to cater at $350 meal for 150 women. Some groups pay a catering company or restaurant to prepare food. Some groups have a business or religious organization sponsor them.
How many people can come with my group to cater and serve a meal?
We can accommodate a group of 8 to 10 people cooking in our dining room.
